THE LOSS OF ACCURACY

Several hundred years ago, there was a “giant leap” in human intellectual development when there became a special focus on accuracy. In this process, the printing press began a mandate for accuracy in communication. Martin Luther said, “Printing is the ultimate gift from God and the greatest one”. Galileo and Newton were eventually published. There was an attitude, a philosophy for accuracy. This concentration led to the further development of the scientific method, the Industrial Revolution and of course, all the technology we have today. This quest for accuracy created the greatest achievements in human history.

Now, there is a social and political trend against accuracy. Despite the greatest communication network in human history, there are people who choose ignorance over accuracy. There are even those promoting resistance to accuracy. A few decades ago, anyone expressing something contrary to accuracy, logic or reality was laughed at as a fool. Now there are prominent people in government, military, business, media and general society who make a mockery of accuracy. How times can change!

This is a most ominous trend and requires a different type of financial plan and investment strategy.
