Fortunately, our elections had a dramatic increase in voter participation. We will now have more women in office than ever and more diversity. Hopefully, this will bring more balance and a more positive spirit to our country.
Unfortunately, it is also the case that no matter who won, half the country would be very upset. It is fascinating that in so many areas, after millions of votes, there were many candidates elected by a margin of two percent or less. There is no consensus in the United States. In fact, it is more divisive than ever and it appears that the attitudes of many people have hardened.
America is deeply divided and a negative spirit envelops the country. The Civil War continues. We must begin to work together or it will get worse. Hopefully, everyone can create a more helpful atmosphere and things will work out. We need much more disclosure and transparency from our government.
In the meantime, you need to protect your family. Financial plans and investments need to be adjusted. You invest very differently depending on whether a society is unified or divided. Real estate, bonds and mutual funds now have more risk.
